Queso stores only what the app needs to work: your household's name, the display names and emoji avatars of its members, your meals and recipes, pantry and shopping list items, your swipes and matches, and dinner-party votes (with the first names guests enter). If you link Sign in with Apple, we store the anonymous identifier Apple provides — never your email or real name from Apple.
No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, no selling or sharing data with anyone. There are no third-party trackers in the app or on this site. We count feature usage on our own servers (for example, "a household matched today") to understand what's working — those counts never include your device details, location, or IP address, and never leave our infrastructure.
Data is stored on our server hosted by Render (United States) and is only accessible to members of your household, authenticated with per-device session tokens. Recipe generation ("Vibe Chef") sends only the cooking description you type or dictate to Anthropic's Claude API to draft the recipe; it isn't used for anything else.
A household admin can remove any member, which deletes their swipes and sessions. To delete an entire household and everything in it, email us and we'll do it promptly.
